ABOUT
Our Story
So, what's the story behind Gamble Creek? Our beloved farm was an orange grove for more than 40 years and then became a source for community sustainable agriculture or a CSA program. Chiles Hospitality began leasing the farm in 2013 with a vision to bring local produce to its restaurants and local residents. However, founder Ed Chiles also wanted to use the farm to process waste from the restaurant and create super-nutritious soil for all that it would grow. The 26-acre farm has quite literally bloomed since its purchase in 2021.
Agriculture and aquaculture, sustainable and organic, wild and cultivated; field to fork, Gulf to grill, and pasture to plate.
Gamble Creek Farms is located on Gamble Creek, which is part of the Manatee River watershed. It's no coincidence that the work done at Gamble Creek Farms ultimately has indirect and direct effects on the coasts of Bradenton, Longboat Key, and Sarasota.
Those working at Gamble Creek and for Chiles Hospitality would love you to visit the farm, try the farm market, and discover all that's going on to make for a better local environment.
Certifications
Gamble Creek Farms is a certified organic farm. We have several certifications from organizations such as:
Florida Organic Growers
USDA Organic
Quality Certification Services
U.S. Green Building Council
Our farm market building is a LEED-certified building, which means the way it was constructed is better for the environment. To achieve LEED certification, a project earns points by adhering to prerequisites and credits that address carbon, energy, water, waste, transportation, materials, health, and indoor environmental quality.
